TOXIC RELATIONSHIP

The PSA uses a contrast between the expectations of love and its darker reality to highlight the emotional and psychological impact of toxic relationships. Through voice messages and narration, it reveals how possessiveness, manipulation, and emotional abuse can escalate into fear, isolation, and even violence.

ABOUT ONE LOVE FOUNDATION

One Love Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about dating violence and promoting healthy relationships. It was founded in response to the tragic story of Yeardley Love, a young woman whose life was taken due to relationship violence.

Dialogue[Female voice message, casual tone]

Hi, it’s Jess. Can’t talk right now, so just call me back later.

[Beep]

Dialogue[Male voice, impatient and slightly annoyed]

Heyyy, what are you doing???? Why aren’t you answering my calls?

You shouldn’t be hanging out with new friends... we need more time together. You know I love you.

call me back. Now. Now. Nowwwwww

Narration

Every call, every word… Love should make us feel safe, but sometimes it turns into control, even threats. It’s more common than you think: in the U.S., about 1 in 5 murder victims are killed by a partner, with nearly two-thirds of female victims killed by a current or former partner. Toxic relationships often lead to depression, anxiety, and suicide. In fact, many of the more than 45,000 suicides reported each year are linked to toxic relationships.

Dialogue[A brief silence follows, then the female protagonist speaks in a trembling, fearful voice]

I’m so scared… I cry every day, but I don’t know who to tell…

Narration

Love shouldn’t feel like this.

This is not love.
